TURBINE
BLADE CASTING
Vacuum
casting or Superalloy casting is widely used in aviation engine,
aerospace engine, gas turbine, ship, metallurgy, petroleum and
glass industry for its super anti-heat, anti-oxidation and
anti-corrosion property. Some usage examples are
turbocharger
or supercharger, turbine blade, Supercharger impeller and nozzle
.
The Vacuum
casting is complicated and they must be produced through the
vacuum induction melting technology.
Superalloy
casting mainly consists of nickel base alloy castings, chromium
base alloy castings, cobalt base alloy casting and
nickel-chromium base alloy castings and etc.
Aftermarket turbine blades is that their starting point is an
existing blade and nothing else. There are no CAD models,
drawings, measurements, tolerances, or inspection data
associated with it. However, thanks to the latest in computer
tools, a blade now can be digitally recreated to exact
specifications and built using the latest design and
manufacturing practices. Below is an example how turbine blades
are captured, reconstructed, inspected, and remade to be better
than the originals
